One of the biggest misconceptions about trading in a vehicle is that age is the most important factor in determining its value. While the model year certainly plays a role, it's far from the only thing dealerships consider. In fact, I've seen older vehicles receive surprisingly strong trade-in offers because they were exceptionally well cared for, while newer vehicles with poor maintenance or significant damage received much lower evaluations.
