The Biggest Myth About Car Salespeople

Homer Skelton Ford's Blog | The Biggest Myth About Car Salespeople

If you've ever shopped for a car, you've probably heard someone say, "Car salespeople only care about making a sale."

The truth is, that couldn't be further from the way I approach my job.

Yes, selling cars is my career, but my goal isn't to convince someone to buy something they don't want or can't afford. My goal is to help people find the vehicle that fits their needs, their lifestyle, and their budget.

Sometimes that means recommending a less expensive vehicle because it's the better fit. Sometimes it means telling someone they're better off waiting a little longer before buying. I'd rather earn your trust than make a quick sale.

Buying a vehicle is a big decision. It should be exciting—not stressful. That's why I believe in answering every question honestly, explaining the process, and making sure you feel comfortable every step of the way.

The best part of my job isn't handing someone the keys. It's seeing them drive away happy, knowing they made the right decision. Even better is when they come back months or years later—or send their friends and family to me because they had a great experience.

At the end of the day, I'm not just trying to sell a car. I'm trying to build relationships that last.

So if you're thinking about buying a vehicle, whether it's next week or six months from now, I'd love the opportunity to help. Even if you just have questions, I'm here for you.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me so far. Your support means more than you know, and I look forward to helping many more people find the perfect ride.
