It’s easy to fall in love with a vehicle sitting on the lot. The color is perfect, the seats are comfortable, and you’re already picturing it in your driveway.
But before you decide, think about a regular Tuesday. The work commute, school pickup, grocery run, and everything else your vehicle needs to handle.
Here are a few things worth checking on your next test drive:
Bring your everyday life with you.
If you use car seats, a stroller, or work equipment, see how they fit. A roomy-looking back seat and a big cargo area can feel different once your stuff is inside.
Spend time in the driver’s seat.
Can you see comfortably? Are the controls easy to reach? Can you find a seating position that feels good? Little annoyances matter when you deal with them every day.
Try the features you’ll actually use.
Connect your phone, test the backup camera, adjust the air, and fold the seats. You don’t need every feature available, but you should feel comfortable using the ones that matter to you.
Think about parking, too.
Extra space is great, but picture pulling into your garage or your usual spot at work. Make sure you’re comfortable maneuvering the vehicle as well as driving it down the road.
Speak up about what you don’t like.
You won’t hurt my feelings if a vehicle isn’t the right fit! Knowing you need more room, prefer different seats, or simply don’t love how it drives helps me understand what to show you next.
