The laughter, the energy, the way I can strike up a conversation with somebody I’ve never met and help them feel a little more at home. I like knowing that someone’s day might be better because I was part of it.
If you know me, you know I’m probably coming in with a smile, a little southern sass, and something to say. 😂 I love making people laugh, especially when they’ve had a rough day. Sometimes a joke breaks the tension. Sometimes listening does more than talking. I want people to feel comfortable enough around me to be themselves.
That light doesn’t mean my life is always easy. I have days when I’m tired, discouraged, or carrying things I haven’t told anyone about. Those days remind me how much a kind word can matter. You never know who walked into the room needing one.
I’m proud of that part of myself, and I’m learning to give myself the same kindness I give other people. I can bring joy into a room and still need someone to check on me. I can be strong and still need rest.
God gave me a heart for people, and I want to keep showing up with it. Wherever life takes me, I hope people remember that I made them laugh, made them feel welcome, and gave them a reason to smile. 🤍
