Life has a funny way of teaching you lessons you never knew you needed. Sometimes those lessons come through blessings, and sometimes they come through the hardest seasons of your life.
But one thing I’m learning is that there is always something to be grateful for.
I’m grateful for the mornings I get to wake up and try again. I’m grateful for the people who love me, the opportunities I’ve been given, and even the doors that God closed because He knew what was waiting on the other side.
I’m grateful for the hard days that taught me patience, the disappointments that taught me strength, and the moments that reminded me just how quickly life can change.
It’s easy to get so caught up in chasing the next big thing that we forget to appreciate what’s already sitting right in front of us. We pray for things, receive them, and sometimes forget that what we have today is something we once begged God for.
I may not have everything figured out. I still have goals I’m chasing, dreams I’m working toward, and plenty of things I want to accomplish. But I refuse to let the things I don’t have make me ungrateful for the things I do.
Because the truth is, a grateful heart doesn’t mean you have a perfect life. It means you recognize the blessings in the middle of an imperfect one.
I’m thankful for where I’ve been, where I am, and where God is taking me. Every season has served a purpose, even the ones I didn’t understand while I was walking through them.
So today, I’m choosing to appreciate the little things a little more, complain a little less, love a little harder, and thank God for another day.
Life is too short to spend it overlooking the blessings we prayed so hard to receive.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
