There are a couple ways to connect your smartphone to your vehicle. You can choose to connect your phone using a USB Cable, CarPlay, or pair your device to your stereo via Bluetooth.
Majority of us do not want to remember which cord belongs to what device, thus, we try to eliminate as many wires from our lives as possible, which is why we love Bluetooth so much.
Whether you just purchased your vehicle or have had it for a while and it offers the capability to use Bluetooth, which most modern vehicles do, it is time to learn how to connect your smartphone to your car via Bluetooth.
If you are using an iPhone:
1 Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth.
- Count to five and turn it back on.
- Restart your iPhone.
- Turn off your vehicle, then pair and connect.
- Firmware may pop up, be sure to update this for your car stereo.
- Also make sure your device is updated, if not already.
If you are using an Android:
- Go to Settings on your Android > Wireless & networks
- Put a Check-Mark in the Bluetooth Box
- Select Bluetooth settings.
- A list of available Bluetooth devices will appear. Select your stereo from the list.
- A box will appear requesting a pairing code.
- Enter the code and the process is complete.
When setting up Bluetooth, it is recommended that you check your vehicles user manual on how to pair your Bluetooth device to your car’s stereo, since there might be some variations in the instructions given above.
Once you have it all set-up, you can begin listening to your favorite mp3 songs or internet radio stations, wirelessly, from your smartphone in your car. Enjoy!
